ABOUT MAE HONG SONG

 

 the "Romantic Thai-Burmese city" It might be the most beautiful city of Thailand...and just easy to walk around.
Nowadays, this quiet pond just reflects the delicate picture of the Jongkram temple and hosts thousands of holly fishes breeding there in peace.
From the temple on the hill, you will catch a beautiful view on the city and the surrounding mountains, then walking through the colorful provincial market or along the main street where souvenir shops offer Shan and Burmese handicraft.

 

 

 


Out of the city, it is worth to rent a vehicle or take a tour (TN Tours, Rose Garden Tours) to visit one of the Karen Long Necks refugee camp, the Tiger waterfall or the fish cave.
From Mae Hong Son you can fly back to Chiangmai in 35 minutes(*), unless you prefer to enjoy the 6 hours most scenic mountain road of Thailand: 250 km and 1200 curves!

In Mae Hong Son you will find clean guest houses around the lake :"Prince?, "Friends", "Johnny". You can also stay in beautiful cottages or resorts around the city : Sangtonghuts , Fern Resort, Golden Pai...

The trip starts one hour drive from Pai; you will enjoy paddling through 60 kilometers of deep jungle, have fun through 60 rapids up to class 4, discover hot-springs, water-falls, gorges on the way and spend a great night in harmony with the nature in our jungle camp.
You will end up the second day in Mae Hong Son, the romantic Shan city
